Good Morning Parents, Parent Information Night For those of you who were unable to make the Parent Information Session last Tuesday night I have attached a copy of the presentation for you to have a look at. Next to the Parent Communication Book I have also left copies of our class handout and a yellow family information sheet that I would love for you to fill out and return to school to help us get to know your family and your child a little better. Please disregard the dates listed for the long weekend in June in our class handout. The correct dates for our  WA Day Public Holiday, followed by a Student Free Day are 3rd/4th June. Hello Year 2 Parents! Week Three already?!? I hope you all had a lovely weekend break and are ready for another week of learning!  Homework  The children have each of the following in their folders tonight: Targeting Mathematics:  One unit is to be completed each week. Please refer to the previous class blog post for due dates for each unit. This week Unit 2 will be due on Friday morning.  It is up to you which part you complete each night.  Parents are encouraged to mark the work with your children daily as they complete each section to help give them immediate feedback. Home Reading:  Please fill out the log nightly in your child's R.E.D. folder. A minimum of 10 minutes per night of reading aloud to a parent is encouraged. Welcome to Year 2K 2019!!!!  What a first week we had! We all had a busy yet fun time learning new routines, rules, ways to learn and new things about being a big Year 2 student.  Most importantly, we have gotten to know each other more and have worked hard to build our 2K team together. Here are (nearly all!) of the new super 2K Team members photos taken on our first morning : In Mathematics we have begun to review the place value of 2 digit numbers and building upon our learning of the parts of numbers in the hundreds and thousands.  We also began our weekly problem solving task and using data to create a whole class birthday graph to determine which month in our class was the most popular to celebrate a birthday.   Below are a few messages about key events and information that we would like to share with you before our Parent Information Evening next week (Tue 19th Feb).
