Week 1 Term 3

Welcome back to term three!

Welcome back to Term three! I hope you all had a lovely holiday and the students are feeling refreshed and renewed after their two week break!

What's On This Term?
This term in writing, we will be continuing with our persuasive writing focus and then moving on to procedure writing which will go hand in hand with our Chemical Science unit. Our Maths focus this term will be skip counting, patterning, multiplication, division and time.

In Science we will be exploring how materials can be used for different purposes and how they can change by either heating or cooling them. Get ready for some super fun experiments this term!

In Visual Arts we will be learning about colour (primary colours and how they mix to form secondary colours). We will experiment with some colour mixing and have a go at creating artworks using complementary colours.

Homework
Homework will be sent home on Monday which includes the homework grid, fluency reading grid and a spelling list with the focus sound that we are learning. We love it when you can fill in your child's R.E.D reading folder which helps us track how they are going in their reading.  This fortnight, our focus sound is 'ng' 😎Please ensure that you sign your child's homework grid before July 31st (the due date) to we can monitor your child's progress at home. Please refer to the photo below of what a completed homework grid should look like.  Many students like to add times under the fluency grid to try and better their record each day.   🌟

Before school Drop Off
As restrictions have eased, parents are now welcome on the school grounds. Our Admin have directed us that restrictions of adults in the class will continue until instructed otherwise so Kiss and Drop will still remain at the door of the classroom at the beginning of the term. As school begins at 8.40 am, if your child arrives after this time, you will have to sign them in at the office. We are starting to practice our team games for the Athletics carnival so having your child here in the morning really helps them to get to know the rules and process of each game.

Please feel free to continue emailing us if you would like to let us know anything at all.
