Last day of term 2!

UPCOMING EVENTS: MORNING TEA FOR MRS KNEZEVIC - tomorrow Friday 29th June: please send in a small plate of food in replacement of your child's recess and leave it on the small tables in the wet area/glass house tomorrow morning.  We will present the wonderful class gift from the parents (thank you!) and have an early morning tea at 10.30  PUPIL FREE DAY - Monday 16th July  Just a reminder that students return to school on Tuesday 17th July.   Wow - what a term!  I can't believe that we are halfway through the year!!! GRANDPARENTS DAY:  Grandparents Day was a huge success, we had so many loving grandparents come in to celebrate this wonderful OLC tradition. The day started with a beautiful prayer service dedicated to our  grandparents. The slide show that Mrs. Meyer put together was beautiful and enjoyed by both the students and their families.  The grandparents enjoyed their morning tea - thank you so much for our parent volunteers for the food and extra hands on the day

Week 9 Term 2

The Final Week! It will be a another busy week in the final week of this short term.  Monday - Grandparents' Morning - 9.00am Mass, 9.30 morning tea, 10-11am classroom visits Friday - 1P Assembly performance and NAIDOC celebrations Friday - Thank you Mrs Knezevic morning tea in 2K at 10.30am Plus lots of learning and fun as usual! Friday 29th- thank you morning tea -   The last day of school this term will also be Mrs Sheree Knezevic's last day of teaching practicum.  To say thank you for all of her hard work, amazing effort teaching all of the 2K children over this term and congratulate her on completing all of her studies, I would love the children to have a special morning tea with her.  If you could bring in a small plate of food in replacement of recess on the last day, it would be greatly appreciated. There was lots of important information in Friday's newsletter and recent email notices, so please take note of what's happening prior to the holidays. World Refugee Lunch Day  - is tomorrow.  If you can also please discuss with your child the donation that can be made...this is the average cost of what it take to feed your child on this day. If your child may have some pocket money to contribute towards this it would also be great!  Many thanks to the parent helpers who have volunteered to cook and serve lunch on Refugee Rice Day. Upcoming events: Go Fish Year3/4 Musical: Friday night 8th June Year 2K Performance Assembly Our assembly will be week 8 of this term, 22nd June!  We will be doing a mini-performance for the story "The Very Cranky Bear".  Your budding actors, actresses and singers will be bringing home scripts to practice this afternoon for the next few weeks with their role which is highlighted. Characters in our play can wear a costume that represents what animal they are.  This does not need to be elaborate - the simpler the better.  Students will need to bring their sports uniform to wear underneath their costume or ready to change into after the assembly.  Please feel free to come and see us if you have any questions or would like any ideas.  Those children who are Narrator 1 and Narrator 2 are asked to be dressed as singers/rock stars as they will be front row performers for our rock song "Author's Purpose P.I.E."
