Week 3 Term 3
Week Three is here already?!?
This week is quite eventful for us as we are visiting the church tomorrow morning with our Year 5 buddy class for our semester participation in a church mass with the OLOSC parish and we are lucky enough to be the first with our new priest, Father Francis. Our week will also finish with our Prayer Assembly performance on Friday morning. The class have worked together to discuss what we imagine and think as we say the Lord's Prayer and it is beautiful to hear all their interpretations of each line of this special prayer that was shared by Jesus. We had a practise today using the microphone and I'm sure our presenting voices will be ready for the big day. Plus of course, we will finish with a song as our 2K signature moves, grooves and singing prowess is known throughout the school!
Mission Markets
Next Thursday the 15th of August we have our mission markets! We are asking for donations of pre-loved items. Feel free to pass this onto other OLC families - donations welcome from all! Please drop them off in the outdoor verandah area of the Year 2 classrooms.
We would also really love some parent helpers for the day:
We are asking for helpers to before (Wednesday 14th) from 2.00pm - 3.00pm to sort and price the items.
OR
Help man our pre-loved stall at the mission Markets from 11.30am - 12.45pm on Thursday 15th August.
If you can help on either of these days, please email me...we would be most appreciative!
On the Mission Markets day, students will come to school with a maximum amount of $5 in the junior primary years in small denominations - please put this in a wallet/purse or zip-lock bag. Please make sure these are clearly labelled. I also suggest that students possibly also need to bring in their own carry bag to use on this day.
Friendology Toys
We will be starting our Friendology scenarios on Friday so if your child hasn't brought in a small soft toy yet, please do so. These will be kept at school for the remainder of term so please no extra special cuddlies.
Prayer Performance is this Friday 9th August
Homework - Students should be completing Unit 22 this week in their Mental Maths books. I will continue to collect these every Friday this term and I thank you in advance for marking these daily alongside your child to enable them to receive immediate feedback. Please continue to asterisk difficult concepts to inform me. This week, please continue to listen to your child read aloud to you for 10 minutes each night and practise spelling each of their spelling words most nights either aloud or written in their yellow pads.
